windows 8 app wont open troubleshooting

Many people encountered problems with App Store or Apps they purchased after upgrading to Windows 8.1 or even fresh install of Windows 8.1. The symptoms include: 1) App does not open or respond to the mouse-click 2) App opens for a split second and closes appearing on the task bar without opening. 3) Error message "Configuration System Failed to Initialize" appear and blank windows appears 4) Error message “This app can’t open” appears and then immediately close 5. A message "Windows require AUC to run" appears Try one of all these solutions to get your Apps working on Windows 8: Enable UAC Windows 8 and Windows 10 require UAC (User Account Control) enabled in order to run Apps. 1. Type UAC in windows search box 2. Open User Account Control Settings 3. Enable it by moving the bar up and reboot your computer Rest the Windows App Store 1. Press Windows + S to open the Windows search box and type CMD in the search box. 2. Right click the CMD Command program and open it as Administrator 3. Type WSReset.exe in the command and hit enter Use Microsoft Apps Troubleshooter 1. Download the Microsoft App Troubleshooter from Microsoft Site and run it. 2. Click Next to run the troubleshooter 3. click Reset. This will open Windows Store 4. Result Window will be presented after the troubleshooter is finished with details of what is repaired. Delete App Repository in case of corrupted Apps 1. Go to C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsAppRepository. Take ownership of this folder if you cannot access it. 2. Sort by type and delete the following files in this folder: PackageRepository.edb edb.log edbtmp.log edb.chk and all the txt files 3. Reboot your computer Run powershell Script - One of the fixes that worked for app cannot open problem was by running this power shell in privilege command. 1. Type CMD in the Windows search box 2. Right click Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator” In the command prompt window, copy and paste the following command and press ENTER powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRootImmersiveControlPanelAppxManifest.xml Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) 1. In the Windows search box, type CMD 2. Right click Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator” At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%System32dllcache.
