Iran is one the most mesmerizing places in the world. Located on the largest continent of the world, Asia, Iran is the second largest country in the Middle East. It is known to the world not only for its rich culture and history but it is also known for having the most picturesque locations in the world. Comprising of majestic lakes, dense forests, peaceful beaches, fascinating caves and exquisite waterfalls, Iran is a great place to witness the unfolding of nature and to bring one close to beauty of the world. Such landmarks encompass the entire country of Iran and one of the most magnificent landmarks, the Sangan Waterfall, is located in the Sangan Village, 20 km northwest of the capital, Tehran.
Ascending to a height of almost 42 meters, it runs water throughout the year. The fascinating fact about this waterfall is that it forms ice glaciers in the winter season at its base. Iran is known for its moderate temperatures but sometimes the temperatures may fall harshly low which causes the formation of this icy landmark. These icy glaciers give the waterfall a look that resembles a rocky ice blanket that embraces the waterfall. These ice glaciers may be climbed by visitors but due to the danger of ice falling from above, this activity is not recommended. During the summer, however, the temperatures may be high and so the flow of water is significantly reduced at this waterfall.
Owing to its magical properties, Sangan Waterfall is one of the most beautiful places of Tehran and several tourists visit this site each year. The waterfall is particularly enticing during the winter months when ice blankets the waterfall and during the winter months the tourist population at the waterfall is most.
