how to stay motivated

We all have our goals and dreams that we press on to achieve. But at times, we just simply grow tired and lose motivation. This could be brought about by different factors—ranging from discouragement coming from peers to loss of actual hope in actually achieving anything. Still, no matter how many times you try to give up, there is still this part in you that want to push forward and reach your goals. How does one stay motivated? 1. Remember Your Reasons One way to stay motivated is to keep on reminding yourself why you’re working so hard to achieve a certain goal in the first place. Often times, we work so hard and we get so pre-occupied in the process that we lose and forget our driving force. Take a minute to remember your very reason as to why you want to achieve that dream. What drives you? If you’re that motivated to start, you’re sure enough to finish as long as you remember why you’re doing it. 2. Don’t Expect Fast Results Nothing great comes easy. People often give up along the way because they hardly see any progress, and even if they do, it’s quite not enough. Keep this in mind: do not expect fast results. Good things in life take hard work and time. Just keep on going and pushing to achieve your goal till you actually do. The reward is sure worth it in the end, knowing all the things you were able to overcome. Have a little bit of faith; results will come eventually. 3. Encourage Yourself A dash of positive thinking always helps. There will come a time that there’ll be no one else in the world to help yourself but you. So, please do yourself a favor and actually help yourself. Instead of putting yourself down, speak positive things and fill your head with hopeful thoughts. It all starts, continues and ends with you. If you have the idea of failing stuck in your mind before you event started, then you might just actually fail. Think positive and always reinforce yourself with good thoughts, even in the midst of a setback. With self-encouragement, you’d actually feel good and gain more confidence in achieving your goals. 4. Persevere This is the key word here: perseverance. Think to yourself: how badly do you want your dreams to become a reality? If you want it bad enough, then you will work as hard. Keep persevering. Don’t stop till your goals become an achievement and your dreams a reality. No matter what life throws at you, don’t let it stop you. Problems and challenges may slow you down, but you have to keep on moving forward—even at a slow pace. Eventually, you’ll get there. And you’ll be thanking yourself that you didn’t give up on your dreams—that you didn’t give up on yourself.
