Avoid sun exposure Believe it or not, this is the main cause for wrinkles. Many studies have shown that direct sun exposure can have multiple negative effects; one of those is wrinkling. Wear sunscreen If you have a job that requires a lot of time spent under the sun or if you are simply a big fan of going to the beach, do not forget to wear sunscreen! It will protect you from a lot of dangers, including cancer. Quit smoking Studies have shown that cigarettes’ smoke contains an enzyme which destroys collagen and elastin, essential for your skin’s health. Get enough sleep Dermatologists claim that your body produces an overdose of cortisol (a skin destroying hormone) when you don’t get enough sleep. They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for nothing… Don’t frown Repetitive facial movements tend to overwork your muscles and form certain “bumps” beneath the skin. In time, these will transform in wrinkles, especially on the forehead. Don’t wash your face too much According to dermatologists, tap water destroys the skin’s natural oils, which allow it to protect from wrinkling. Whenever you wash your face, you must use a moisturizer. Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Women are sometimes so preoccupied with anti-aging products that they forget the basics: hydration. A hydrated skin will always look fresh and young and the wrinkles will be less visible.
