First you need Cisco Console cable (RJ45-DB9 Female). Connect the RJ45 to the switch console port and DB9 Serial port to your PC (If your PC does not have DB9 port, get DB9 to USB converter). 2. Run the HyperTerminal software on your PC and adjust the correct com port to connect to the switch. HyperTerminal does not come with new Windows 7, alternatively, you can download and use putty or Tera Term 3. Once you connect the switch first time, it presents wizard question. Answer it to NO and hit enter to do this yourself.
