History
Yongpyong resort was built in the year 1975. Standing at an erect 700 meters from the mean sea level, the resort is doubtlessly off the limits of habitable grounds. The resort is 200 kilometers away from the capital city of Seoul, at the edge of Eastern Asia. The place receives snowfall of 250cm in average, and that leaves it snow swept in the months starting from November to April. It stretches across 4,300 acres that encompasses a golf course with 45 holes and 31 ski slopes.

It is a Ski Resort and hence the possible sport is evident with the number of slopes it has. Skiing and snowboarding are the most prominent winter sports. How to Get There
The ski resort is located a little off the center at a distance of 20 and 43 km from the Odaesan Mountain and Songjung Beach respectively. The East Sea is at about 50Km. Travelers can avail 15 lift services depending on where they are coming from. They can take a 3.7 Km ride on cable cars or take shuttle cabs. A 4-lane highway has further reduced the distance from Seoul by two whole hours.
