ShadowExplorer is a program that allows you to browse the Shadow Copies created by the Windows Vista / 7 / 8 Volume Shadow Copy Service. It can be used to restore snapshot of files on specific date, hence deleted files can be recovered using this tool. I have used this tool to recover permanently deleted files, Encrypt-wall Virus deleted files and it works like charm as long as you don’t overwrite the disk space.
Using Open Shadow Explorer
1. Download the latest Open ShadowExplorer and install it on your computer
2. Open Shadow Explorer. From the drop down list you can select from one of the available point-in-time Shadow Copies listed. Select drive and the latest date that you wish to restore from.
3. Right click folder to restore and click export. You will then be prompted as to where you would like to restore the contents of the folder to. Choose a restore location and then all your files will be exported to the selection location from the point-in-time shadow copy.Publisher: abdirahman isse
