Also known as “Pastel de Choclo”, is a Creole food prepared with “choclo”, which is the term that people use to express that the corn is soft and cuddly. This delicious recipe is a really healthier option recommended for people on diets and also can be used as an appetizer or entrée or as a trim to any meat, beef, pork or chicken.

The ingredients you need are:

. 10 big corns
. 3 carrots, peeled and chopped
. 1 apple, peeled
. 4 tablespoons of butter
. 2 eggs
. 1 teaspoon of anise
. Salt to taste
. Sugar to taste
. ¼ Kgr. Of cheese

To prepare the cake you need to:

1. Peel and wash the corn.

2. Remove the corn kernels and grind with the corn with the apple and the carrots in a blender

3. Flavor with the salt to taste, the cinnamon, the anise and sugar at taste

4. In a separate bowl, mix the grated cheese with the milk

5. Mix together the cheese and the corn

6. Melt the butter and add to the preparation, mixing all the time

7. Cover the inside of Pyrex with butter, like cake mold, and add the preparation

8. Preheat the oven at 180º and bake the cake for about 35 minutes

9. When the cake is colored lightly brown, it means the cake is ready

10. Remove from the oven and let it cool before taking of the Pyrex

11. Cut in small portions and serve it. If it is like a trim, serve in small portions with a salad, and if it is an entrée serve a portion of medium size and serve with a sauce made of chopped tomato, chopped green onions, mustard and mayonnaise.
