This instruction will show you how to autologon to a windows computer by changing the registry.
After the change, the computer should automatically logon using the specify username and password. Please note it’s dangerous to modify the computer registry without knowing what you doing and this change has some security risks associated.
To setup a Windows 7 computer to automatically logon on reboot, use the instructions bellow:
1) Click Start and type regedit in the search box.
2) Click on regedit.exe program showing in the picture above
3) Navigate to HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionwinlogon
4) In the Winlogon section, set autoAdminLogon to 1, type the DefaultUserName, and create a String Value called DefaultPassword. Type the password in the DefaultPassword string. If you want setup a domain, create a new string called DefaultDomainName and type the domain name.
